drink recipe: it’s like sangria, but better

When I studied abroad in Spain in 2014, I was introduced to a drink they call tinto de verano. A refreshing take on red wine, this drink is literally called the “red wine of summer.” The best part? It’s so, so easy. If you don’t have the time to prepare different kinds of fruit and let them soak in wine for a sangria drink — or if you just want to switch it up and look ahead to summer — you should definitely try this easy Spanish wine cocktail.

What you need:

  • 1 part red wine (a tempranillo works well for me)
  • 1 part Sprite
  • ice
  • lemon slice

Pour red wine over ice in a glass. Add Sprite and garnish with lemon.

That’s it. This drink is so light and simple; it’ll have you transported to warmer days in no time. As always, let me know how it turned out for you!
